I cook exactly as stated and its fab. This was my first time making basmati rice and it turned out great. I usually use chicken stock in my regular rice and the bay. Stir in chopped carrot, currants, orange peel, cinnamon, black pepper and red pepper flakes.

Instructions to make Basmati Pilaf Rice:
  1. Wash and parboil rice.
  2. Chop onions, red, green bell peppers, set aside.
  3. Sauce rice with salt, seasoning cubes, soy sauce, oregano, cook for about 5mins
  4. In a large skillet, heat up vegetable oil, add onions, fry a bit to release it's flavors, add in garlic/ginger powder, Scotch bonnet pepper, red bell pepper, let it fry for a bit, add kidney beans, raisins, green bell pepper and stir to combine
  5. Add sauced rice to vegetable mix little by little until thoroughly combined, taste for salt, add a sprinkle of oregano, stir, bring down from heat, Voila…..

Carefully stir in chicken broth and water into the rice mixture, stir slightly with a wooden spoon. Fluff with a fork before serving.
