Remove beef from pot, set aside in a bowl (to catch all the juices), then repeat with remaining beef, setting it all aside for a bit. Heat oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. For the spice mix: In a small bowl, combine the basil, garlic powder, paprika, sea salt, cumin and oregano. Pour the beef stock into the pot and add the lentils.

  4. Once the meat was tender enough to easily be pulled apart I sat my crock pot to warm and let cool for you 15 minutes.
